HB 09-1273, the Colorado Guaranteed Health Care Act, begins building a system of health care in Colorado that is accessible to everyone, provides higher quality care and lowers costs. It is true reform, not just tweaking a flawed and failing system. This will stop the waste of health care money going to complex billing and profits and invest in better primary care and prevention. This is Smart Medicine for Colorado. The step to the Health Care Reform we need. Working together let's make it happen !

Editorializing that now is the time to ask "how" and that "Some things are too important to be managed solely for profit, too vital to our society as a whole to be left completely to individuals to provide," The Northern Colorado Business Report on March 13 endorsed Rep. Kefalas’ Colorado Guaranteed Health Care Act (HB 1273). The Board of Directors of the Health District of Northern Larimer County wrote a 6-page Objective Analysis of HB 1273 and voted unaminously to endorse the bill - one of more than 60 group endorsers.

"Our special in studio guest is Professor Thomas Russell, Vice President of Health Care for All Colorado (HCAC). HCAC has worked with State Representative John Kefalas of Fort Collins and State Senator Joyce Foster of Denver to craft legislation that will lead to health care for every Colorado resident while reducing to total costs of health care. The bill now has an impressive list of co-sponsors in both chambers of the Colorado legislature. Tom Russell, is an attorney and a professor at the DU Law School. We also had Dr Irene Aguilar call in. She is President at HCAC."
