Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010 - 6 PM

You are invited to the monthly meeting of the Colorado Springs Chapter of Health Care for All Colorado: Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010 at Penrose Library (20 N. Cascade) in the Children's Room, 6:00 PM.

A very wise speaker I heard this week stated, "The small group is the unit of transformation." (emphasis added). I hope you agree, and will come with creative ideas. I want to propose a focus question for our gathering: How do we create a system that nurtures the health and well-being of each citizen of our community?

I hope to see you on the 21st.

Colorado Springs HCAC Chapter Established

The Colorado Springs Chapter of Health Care For All Colorado has formed and we currently have 154 people interested in health care reform..  We've already had several meetings and the next meeting is scheduled for::  Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Penrose Main Library/ Adult Room.

"The establishment of a Colorado Springs Chapter was a great joy," writes Pueblo Chapter Head Anne Courtright.

Athena Roe, the new head of the HCAC Colorado Springs Chapter, reports they have had many successful meetings, including the most recent single payer meeting and press conference on July 30 that included Representative Dennis Apuan and news coverage from News 13. The chapter joined organizations nationwide to celebrate the 44th birthday of Medicare, the single-payer health care system that covers U.S. citizens age 65 and older and is one of the most popular social programs in U.S. history.
