Thank you, HCAC members and supporters!

You are making the change happen!

Single-Payer Rally Nearly 300 HCAC members and other supporters of guaranteed affordable health care for all rallied on an icy January 31 on the West Steps of the Capitol. Jeremy's music met the marchers as they arrived from the meet-up at the Central Presbyterian Church.

Senate President Ken Gordon welcomed the crowd, and was followed by Reps. Jerry Frangas, John Kefalas and Claire Levy.

Barry Keene, vice-president of Health Care for All Colorado, praised the legislators for joining HCAC in the sunshine. Other legislators in the crowd included Rep. Randy Fischer, a longtime supporter, and Larimer County Commissioner Randy Eubanks.

We were greatly honored to hear from Fran Ricker, executive director of the Colorado Nurses Association, Beverly Ingle, president of the board of the Colorado Education Association, Betty Lehman, executive director of the Autism Society of Colorado, and Marjory Beale, the president of the Colorado League of Women Voters.

Cheers filled the crisp winter air as the legislators and civic leaders spoke -- the applause was also warm for Dr. Cory Carroll, a longtime Fort Collins advocate for single-payer financing for health care for all, and Sara Jarrett, a professor of nursing at Regis.

Those cheering the speakers included several single-payer notables who are usually in front of the mikes at these events -- including Donna and Larry Smith, of "Sicko" fame; and Nathan Wilkes, a nationally known figure in the movement to make health care for all a reality.

Dr. Dick Gingery of Montrose, president of HCAC's board, spoke last, encouraging everyone to keep up their great work.

If you weren't able to Storm the Capitol on Thursday, it's not too late! Please call your legislators now, and tell them you want guaranteed affordable health care for all -- something that is only possible with single-payer financing.
